A St. Albans man with a lengthy criminal history has been arrested twice for the same string of alleged break-ins, according to local police. Authorities say the suspect, who has dozens of prior arrests on his record, is now facing charges related to a series of business burglaries in the area.
The first arrest occurred earlier this week after officers responded to an alarm at a commercial property. Police found the man inside the building and took him into custody. However, he was released on bail shortly after. Just days later, officers were called to another break-in at a nearby business. They discovered the same individual on the scene, allegedly attempting to flee through a back exit. He was arrested again for similar offenses.
Police reports indicate the suspect has a history of property crimes dating back over a decade. The string of burglaries has left local business owners on edge, with many calling for stricter penalties for repeat offenders. The man is currently being held without bond pending a court appearance. Authorities continue to investigate whether he is linked to other unsolved break-ins in the region.
