After six years in the tech industry, I found myself unexpectedly laid off, prompting a significant shift in my life. Transitioning to a stay-at-home mom has been both rewarding and challenging. Balancing the demands of parenting while actively searching for a new job has proven to be a complicated endeavor.
Each day is filled with the joys and trials of motherhood, from playful moments with my child to the relentless tasks of household management. However, the pressure to secure a new position looms large. The tech job market is competitive, and I often find myself navigating job applications and interviews during nap times or after my child goes to bed.
This dual role of caregiver and job seeker can be overwhelming. While I cherish the time spent with my little one, I also feel the need to re-enter the workforce and contribute financially. The journey ahead is uncertain, but I remain hopeful for the future as I adapt to this new chapter in my life.
