Traveling solo in Japan for 24 days was an incredible experience filled with breathtaking sights and rich cultural encounters. However, there were aspects of my journey that I would approach differently next time. One of the most significant challenges I faced was the difficulty in meeting new people while staying in capsule hotels. While these accommodations offered a unique experience and were budget-friendly, they lacked the social atmosphere that many travelers seek.
In contrast, hostels provided a more vibrant environment, fostering connections among guests. The communal spaces and shared activities encouraged interaction, allowing me to engage with fellow travelers from around the world. If I had chosen hostels over capsule hotels, I believe my experience would have been enriched by the friendships formed and stories shared.
Additionally, I would prioritize joining local tours or group activities to further immerse myself in the culture and meet new friends. Overall, while my journey was rewarding, these adjustments would enhance the social aspect of solo travel in Japan.
