A recent finance graduate from Penn State's Smeal College of Business has chosen to give back to the programs that shaped his education. Palmer Moore, who just completed his degree, made a philanthropic gift to support two specific areas: the Sapphire Leadership Academic Program and the Center for Business Ethics and Social Responsibility.
Moore was an active participant in the center's Business Ethics Team during his time at the university. In a statement, he credited both programs for contributing directly to his success as a student. The Sapphire Leadership Academic Program focuses on developing leadership skills among undergraduates, while the Center for Business Ethics and Social Responsibility emphasizes ethical decision-making in the business world.
The donation will help sustain and expand these initiatives for future students. Moore's decision to support ethics and leadership reflects a growing trend among young alumni who want to ensure that the values they learned remain a core part of the college's curriculum. Officials at Smeal noted that such gifts from recent graduates are particularly meaningful, as they demonstrate an immediate commitment to the institution's mission. The funds will be used to enhance programming, support student activities, and provide resources for ethical training. Moore expressed hope that his contribution will inspire other alumni to invest in the programs that made a difference in their own academic journeys.
