I traveled by train using a Eurail pass during a backpacking trip through four European countries, and I found it much more enjoyable than flying. The experience of gliding through picturesque landscapes, with rolling hills and charming villages, added a unique charm to my adventure. Unlike the hassle of airports, train stations offered a more relaxed atmosphere, allowing me to easily navigate between cities without the stress of long security lines or flight delays.
The Eurail pass provided the flexibility to hop on and off trains at my leisure, making spontaneous stops in quaint towns a breeze. Each journey became an opportunity to meet fellow travelers and immerse myself in the local culture. I was able to enjoy breathtaking views from my window seat, making the travel time feel like an integral part of my trip rather than a mere necessity.
Overall, the choice to travel by train not only enhanced my experience but also allowed me to appreciate the beauty of Europe in a way that flying simply couldn't match.
