Westfield council OKs tax break for accounting firm's new HQ

The Westfield City Council has approved a tax abatement for a local accounting firm planning to build its new headquarters in the city. The two-story office building will be constructed on North Union Street, situated next to the Basile Westfield Playhouse and near Christ United Methodist Church. The decision came after council members reviewed the economic development proposal during a recent meeting.

The accounting firm, which has operated in Westfield for years, will receive a property tax break as part of the agreement. Officials say the incentive is designed to encourage the company to stay and expand within the city rather than moving to a neighboring community.
